Mileage on 200 rear tire!

I got over 8,000 miles out of my stocker. It is all in preference also. When people think they should change it. How they think it handles or how much tread they want on it. Do what you think is safe and rideable. Some people change at 5k. There is nothing wrong with that mileage. Brakes on the other hand. Your brakes should go alot further than that.

I think they said at my dealership that it is 2/32 is what harley recommends changing the tire! I am just being extra dilagent on checking tire pressure before ever ride! They also said that the 200mm tire compund is alot softer than the smaller ones so I guess I just need to wait and see!

My 07 has about 6K on it and it looks like it should go for another 1 to 2K.
Bike tire's in general don't last as long as car/truck tires because of the softer nature of its tread compound and as far as I'm concerned that's not all that bad a thing.
While I can easily get 60K out of the tires on my pickup I wouldn't trust the tread compound in them for anything like the maneuvers any bike is capable of.
So if I have to replace the tires 4 or 5 or even more often than I do the truck, so be it. The truck isn't as likely to slide out from under me in a tight turn because of hard or worn tires as the bike could. Better safe than sorry.
