If I wear my boots that has a heel I toe shift, and if I wear my flat bottom boots I sometimes use the heel shifter.

My Boots are to big in front to lift the toe part of the shifter. I would like to remove the heel part though.

Is there a taller shifter that I can buy?

Cheers!

Don't need a taller shifter, just need to rotate the shifter up a few splines. Easy enough. Loosen the allen on the bottom. Just make sure you put some blue locktite on it and tighten it back good. Had to do that on both our bikes. Did the same with my rear shifter also except I lowered it so I didn't have to raise my heel so much.

+1, they set them too high from factory, adjust it down and no problems

I really like the heel shifter. It's just fun to use. I seem to use the toe shifter for maybe 2nd and 3rd and the heel shifter for everything after that.

I seem to use my heel a lot to downshift when my toe rests on the hwy peg, kinda cool lol.

This is my 3rd Harley and the first thing I do is remove the heel shifter. Then add a spacer to move the toe shifter out to the end of the rod, it makes the toe shifter much more convenient. I just use PVC painted black cut to the correct length.

It seems the best of both worlds would be to install the folding gizmo so you've got it when you want it or it's out of the way when you don't. The strange thing to me is that the one that H-D makes only swings partially out of the way.

And the one that Kuryakyn makes goes totally out of the way.

Anyone tried either of these or preferably BOTH of these? I'm not even sure the Kuryakyn one is available yet. The catalog says: available in July 2009.
