Default Installing a side mount plate holder?

I'm thinking of mounting a side mount license plate holder on my bike. I was thinking of one that mounts to the axle nut. I was wondering if there are any adjustments that will have to be made to the belt tension if I remove the nut? Is it as simple as removing the axle nut putting on the bracket and tightening the nut back down? Thanks guys.

Not sure, but before you rule out all of your options, have you seen the ones made by Heartland? VERY SWEET!!!

Many other options, IMO mounting on axle would be last option.. Good luck

My problem is I have a swingarm bag so it will block anything besides an axle mounted plate holder.

Here is a link where i posted pics of mu road6customs axel mount, cant beat teh price, i just throw on a chrome plate trim and some harley bolts think it looks great and would work perfect with a swingarm bag, which i am looking for a good deal on as we speak.

I'm not sure how they mount but,If all you have to do is remove the clip and the castle nut on the end of your axle the belt tension won't be affected.Just don't loosen the adjustment bolts on either side.If you have to loosen the adjusment, take a measurement first then set each side back to that measurement when your done

I have the same questions. I ordered a black one for the bones. I got it from Demon Cycles, desite some of the bad things I've heard. The quality of it seems to be very good. But of course no directions werei ncluded and they haven't gotten back to me as of today. I want to put it on but I didn't know what if any adjustment would need to be made. And I also don't know if I need anything else for the wiring as it is an led plate and tail light.
