Default Need Answers Heritage Bags on Fat Boy

I have searched and searched and searched the posts and found some very good information on putting Heritage bags on a fatboy, but no definate answers of what if anything needs to be modifed.

I am wanting to put Heritage bags on my 2000 Fatboy (I like they way they look and the size) I understand I will need to relocate my turn signals and am running V&H longshots so clearence is not an issuse. Where I am geting confused is when it comes to the fender strut some say I will need to drill an extra hole some say I dont. Some post say I have to use a Heritage fender strut some say I dont.

So does anyone know which it is. Also what mounting hardware will I need to use. Can I use the HD mounting kit now offered or would it be easier to go with easy brackets or somethingelse. I have no problems mounting the bags soild and would prefer to keep the bags as close to the fender strut as possiable

Thanks

From what I understand, the pipes and signals are the main obstacles in terms of fitment. As for mounting hardware, you probably want to ask the parts guy at your dealership. If you end up getting the wrong parts it's his fault

Heritage strut has an extra hole to accomadate the bags. At least my 2002 fatboy has one less hole. You can probably get a bracket that will work through easy brackets or something without drilling the extra hole I would imagine.
