Default HD REAPER Rear wheel for an 07 FXSTB ?

I want to know if anyone has put a HD Reaper rear wheel on an 07 Night Train.
In the 08 and 09 HD catalog it does not list a Reaper wheel for this application. (only 08 and newer)
Is it the axle size or what?
What is the axle dia. on an 07 Night Train?
I was considering putting Reaper wheels on the Ft and Rear.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Default Reaper Axle

If the only difference is the 3/4" to 1" (or 25mm) rear axle size difference, can't the bearings be changed to fit the 07 axle and installed in the Reaper rear wheel?
I know that they offer a Reaper ft wheel for the 07.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Steve,

As far as I know the outside diameter of the wheel bearings hasn't changed in God only knows how long, and only reason the wheel isn't listed for earlier bikes is that they are sold 'as is' with the newer/larger size bearings preinstalled.
If your willing to change out the bearings it comes with for the size you need. It can be made to fit the axle (if not in the swing arm) of nearly any year bike back to at least the early 90's.

Frank

BTW Are you getting as tired of all this white "Global Warming" as I am? I was hoping it might warm up a little this weekend cause the roads are finally clear of all the black ice (if not the salt and sand). But mother nature has screwed us, cause its snowing AGAIN!! over by me and Roman. Given your east of the bay its probably dumping all over you. Isn't Lake effect Global Warming wonderful?

I wanted the reaper wheels and my dealer said it was more than the bearing. They don't come with bearings, you have to buy a wheel install kit. But he said that I wasn't the first and someone had brought in the 17" rear wheel to be installed and the hub or spacing is also different. I don't know if its true but I didn't want to spend 750 bucks on a wheel to be a guinee pig.

I also would love to know if it could fit an 07.

Default Reaper wheel/axle fit to an 07 FXSTB (softail)

I was told by the HD dealer that the 07 Night Train has a 3/4" rear axle. and the 08 and 09 have 25mm (.985"). I asked if all I had to do was change to the 3/4" bearing and he said there were other differences that he was not sure of.
As for changing to the lager axle (25mm) I don't know how that would fit through the smaller swing arm and rear brake caliper bracket.
I know that an install kit would be needed but HD does not list the REAPER wheel for the 07.
They even tell me that the 06 200mm wheel is also different.
HD groups them like this, 06, 07 and 08-09 all being different.

##There has to be someone that works at a dealer or knows the correct info that reads this site out there.##
I can't imagine that HD would not make this wheel to fit earlier models with some over the counter parts to retrofit.
By the way, the list price on this wheel is $849.00
In my opinion the REAPER wheel is a natural for the dark Night Train.
