Rear wheel for an 07 FXSTB ?
#12
Help!!!!!!
I stopped at my local dealer and he said he would look into what the differences between years might be. (06,07 and 08-09)
I looked at an 09 NT rear wheel and other than I can see the axle and spacers are larger in dia. I can't see any visible difference between the 07 and 09 wheel.
Any one got more correct info to be able to put a HD Reaper rear wheel on an 07 NT?
It just looks so easy, but what do I know.

I AM THE GUNIEA PIG! I've done it....I have a reaper rear wheel on my '07 FXST. It only took about 3 hrs, but we got it done. Here's the skinny- I had to buy a wheel installation kit to fit the '07 bikes (the outside diameter of the rear hub is the same, but the inside diameter of the bearings is different- to accomodate for the axle size difference). We had to machine down the inner spacer because the ones in the kit didn't fit right. So, we took the one that was just a hair too long, and turned it down on a lathe. Then we had to machine down the external spacers to fit correctly. The newer wheels are just a little wider than the '07 stock rear wheel. Here's where it gets tricky... PRYING the swingarm apart to get the spacers in. and BE CAREFUL of your spacer on the drive side! I've got very little clearance between my pulley and the bolts/brackets for belt guards. Literally, I have about 1/32 of clearance. When we 1st got it back together, we weren't careful enough. We spun the wheel, to make sure it was tracking straight, and I could hear a rubbing....I now have a nice scrape all the way around my pulley....not noticable unless you know it's there- but I know it's there. Good Luck...let me know if you need anything.
