Default extended clutch cable question

hey guys im in the middle of putting my 16 inch flying apes on my night train. the bars measure about 17 inches im using the carlini riser also which is about an inch and a half. now ive tried to measure how long i need my new clutch cable to be with string but i dont think im getting it right. i went to the stealer and they couldnt tell me how long i was going to need. they said they'd get back to me. its been a week. doeas anyone have a similar setup on a softail with lenghts? the measurement im getting is around 71 inches? i know theses cable questions come up all the time and its a common issue

thanks

Get yourself an old wire hanger and use it for your measuring. This way you get the bends and clearences correct.

using romex wire is a good way to measure. it's stiff enough to stay where you want to run the cable and flexible enough to make the bends. Who are you buying the cables from?

I'm no expert, but I went with the Motion Pro Armor Coat +4 (which reads as a 67.5" long cable) for my 14" Flyin Apes. My bet would be that a +6 would be about perfect.

Check out this guy. He got me set up with cables and hoses and wires. He uses Barnetts. He knew all the lengths for my bike and my bars. He'll know yours too. Price ain't bad either.
