What happens if you just replace bulbs with the LED 1156/1157 Replacements

 

I have tried the LED bulbs like you buy at autozone. well, they just don't last! the circuit boards always break free from the diod. they just aren't made for the abuse from a bikes stiff suspension. they will last about 3-4 months then one would go out. i have switched back to standard bulbs....

 

07' Train, left the amber 1156 with smoked lenses in back, and put red led's up front with smoked lenses, no load equalizer needed. Looks pretty wicked "evil eyes"

 

not to be the legal eagle but are red bulbs legal up front?

I bought extra when I was in Holister a couple of years ago...

 

tlb, it's not illegal till ya get caught. I'm very fortunate that a few of the guys I ride with are local L.E.

Got into an argument with a all knowing 17 year old in autozone over the legality of having them in the back

 

I like my chrome bulbs...but to answer about the red ones in the rear,if they are not legit,why then does HD sell the red turn brake kit

 

They're legal in the back.

 

Red or amber in Rear are legal, and amber only up front, here in ohio, i am sure it varies but thats probably common law.

Anyways, will they blink correctly if i put leds in, will look for a quality set online instead of cheap auto store ones. i just dont want them to blink to fast
