Rocker Tank Emblem Removal?
I am getting close to starting my paint project on my RockerC. Just curious as to you that have repainted your own bikes as to how to deal with the tank emblem. Did you take it off or just tape it off and paint around it?? I would assume that it is on there with some type of adhesive kinda like the reflectors?

If you have one of the decal types you may not have a lot of luck trying to get it off without a grinder.
I was over at the factory last Friday and saw how they did some of the paint. If its a stick on emblem you should be able to soften up the adhesive tape under it with a little heat. But the decal kind is put on before they put a clear powdercoating on over it and the paint. So that's gonna be real hard to get off. Be easier to tape it off, paint everything else then clearcoat it all together.
BTW The tour guide told us that it takes them over 5 hours to paint the tins on a single color bike, 12 hours for the fancier two color jobs.

It's your choice.. Like others have said you can remove it fairly easy or you can just tape it up.. I taped mine using an exacto knife and a little patience.. Now I'm thinkin I should have pulled it and filled in the recess.. Then again, I have a front fender to paint this spring so I just might do that...
