i have done a search and not found the info. i am looking for. i have a friend who is going to do some mods on an 06 deluxe. namely big hard bags, tour pack and a bat wing. has anyone done this? my understanding is the bike weighs approx. 724 lbs. curb weight. does anyone know the gvw? also i have been told that a bat wing will add approx. 70 lbs of down force on the front end. the new paint won't add much weight.
i think the bike will look great. i am just concern about the added weight of everything add ons and clothes etc.

Memphis Shades makes a Bat Wing fairing that will fit the Softails.

 

thank you, i believe that is the one he is buying. my main concern was that he is adding a lot of weight with the pack, bags and bat wing. including what he could put in them and on them. i can not find the gvw rating any where. he is not worried about it but i kind of am as we tour quite a bit together. i will contact the dealership tomorrow and see what they say.

If the fairing is the Memphis Shades etachable Fairing , weight is not an issue. It weighs about the same as a Full Size HD Windshield.
