Default help! microfiber burned onto exhaust :(

Well, the good news is I have a new set of Hooker Troublemakers installed...bad news is, when I was wiping down the oil tank my microfiber cloth touched the pipes and melted on to it. I know I used some stuff back in the day that took it right off, but I can't remember what it was. What do you guys use for this sort of mess up. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I used flitz metal polish when fiber melted on my pipes. With some elbow grease came out fine.

Try some paint thinner. That should work, just let the pipes cool.

+1 on steel wool. Use it wet.

Easy off oven cleaner cold comes in a blue can. Make sure pipes are completely cool spray on let set for several hours come back and start rubbing off with nevr dull. I had to repeat this process 2x but with patience the marks came off and you can not tell where they were.

Good Luck

Burned my pant leg on the pipes, and used w-d 40 when the pipes where cool.... give a good shot of the w-d to soak the fiber. If its not coming loose, spray it, let it soak. Eventually it loosens up.... Start the bike , and try to use a rag lightly sprayed with w-d and quickly wipe the area, it will smoke, but it gets the crap off.

+ 1 with the Easy Off oven cleaner, very little risk of scratches.
