V&H True Duals??? Opinions-Info needed.
My dad has a 07 Heritage and I've been thinking about buying him some exhaust for his B-Day.
I know he likes the True Duals but I have never delt with them. My questions are:
Do they have full heat sheilds on them?
Are they very loud?
Are their any better alternatives in the same price range?
Any help will be appreciated.

the heat sheilds are full.
I have quiet baffles in mine and like the sound alot better. The quiet baffles take the tin sound out and make it a more bass tone. It can still be fairly loud when you crack on it. With just the stock baffles it's loud and tin sounding.
They are easy to put on yourself though but they do take a few hours. Personally I think Heritages look great with true duals and fishtails. You can see some better pic's in my album.
Look for them on ebay....I got mine brand new with fishtails for 600 shipped.

+1 for Samson true dual fishtails without baffles. They are very loud and not for everyone...I luv them but friends who ride behind me don't. They have low backpressure so the bike does have less low end then it did before, but the trade off is worth it to me. Also, the Samson's have a more classic fishtail style where as the Vance system has a modern twist.
The Vance systems are very well designed, and their fit and finish is excellent. The quality is up there...you really can't go wrong with that system. With the baffles, you'll be able to keep more of the bikes low end torque as well.
IMHO if you want a true old school style/look, go with Samson's. If you want performance and excellent quality, go with Vance.
If you want a combo of both, I'd recommend Freedom Sharktails...they're the new kid on the block so to speak...and make a killer system. They are a bit pricey, the cheapest I’ve seen the system is low 700's...but they are really nice.

Thanks for the replies!! With the info ya'll have given I think I'm going to get him the V&H.
Oh and about the adoption, we may be able to work something out, but only if you let me borrow your bike!! My dad lets me ride his when ever. I would let him do the same but the whole no windshield thing kepps him off!
