Twin cams it has, what you refer to is a DOHC engine. One cam per side would be a SOHC, a twin cam can have them anywhere and be a pushrod motor which it is. Hope this clears your brain.

reply #2...
DOHC denotes 2 OVER HEAD cams PER BANK.

if you know your HD history, Twin Cam denotes TWO cams in the motor instead of ONE.

is that better?

now stop smoking that ****...

Twin = two
Cams = cams

What you're describing in the opening post is DOHC. Dual Overhead Cams.

Two different things.

Twin cam usually means one intake camshaft and one exhaust camshaft.
We should call a Sportster Quad-cam then.

But the real questions is, Are they Identical Twin Cams? If I rebuild my motor and use one of the cams from another Twin Cam Motor, Would that be like an Adopted Twin Cam? How do I know if they are both Boys or Both Girls. Could one be a Boy and one a Girl? Oh MY, this Twin Cam issue is just so Confusing. Don
