just wondering if anybody out there is running Amsoil 20W-50 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle Oil in their engine, tranny & primary, and if you are what do you think??? i am getting ready for a fluid changeout and really like the idea of buying 1 product for all if its good. i was gonna buy harley syn3 but ive read mixed reviews and havent heard anything great from friends. my buddy was running HD syn3 in all 3 for his 07 road king and said it shifted better after he changed to amsoil, but he uses a different product for each part. also, does anyone know where you can get this stuff for a good deal? barrell oil price has dropped alot these past months but we are still paying a premium...

 

Throwing money in the toilet. Run it in your engine, but throw hd formula plus in the trans and primary.

 

do a search on this in the oil section. A lot has been said about this. HD says you can run their synth in all 3. I still use 3 diff amsoil in holes but I let the primary and trannie go and do them every other change..

 

I run the oil in the engine but use Bel ray for the trans and no wine or clank and I can find neutral. I use Motor Factory® Primary Case Lube in the primary. because Amsoil has gone up so much I just switched to Mobil 1 for vtwin and it works as good. I have 30,000 miles in about 1.5 years and it runs great and no debris in the oil changes.

I was talking to a distributor on another foruma dn they said running the Amsoil 20-50 is totally fine in all three holes. I was going to try it. I know a lot of people that have used it in the motor and were really happy.

 

Amsoil? Never heard of it before. Might be a good topic for a thread though: "Amsoil or Mobil1".

 

run the amsoil gear lube in the tranny for that smooth quite shifting experience

ive been reading those threads too but i was looking more for guys who are running same product in all three holes... doesnt appear to be too many out there though.

 

running mobil 1 in all the holes on 01 fatboy and HD syn in all 3 holes on 07 night train
