My understanding is polished alum. wheels are high maintanence.Got to keep polishing to keep the shine.Chrome is a better option.

Pros and cons to polished aluminum wheels. I had them on my '04 Softail standard. If you keep a good coat of wax on them after polishing, they will stay nice for quite a while.
Chrome wheels are less maintenance, but if they start to rust or you get a chip in the chrome there isn't much you can do.

Polished wheels are a pain in the a$$. Especially the rear wheel. What bike do you have?

Wow... this isn't TV Tommy Ivo...? Anyway, I have some intricate billet wheels on my Night Train, and while they look good, polishing them is a pain in the butt. I'm thinking of having them powder coated gloss black so I can just wash them and be done.

I have (as you can see) the solid spun aluminum wheels and they are not bad at all if you keep them wiped off once a week with a spray shine. I have used mothers once in the last 3 months and a light coat of cycle finish and then just wipe them off. Chrome starts to rust after a few years and then they are waisted and as we all know wheels ain't CHEAP!!. My opinion.
