PS... take any accessories off your bike that you added before you trade it in. Sell them off in the classifieds section.

Eventhough I think that the paint job on that Deuce is cool, I think walking away was the right thing to do. For that price on that year bike, I would expect the upgrades to be a little more significant. More chrome, nicer rear wheel (at least chromed deuce rear)...etc. I would say that I wouldn't expect to much for your sportster when trading it in though. The crap economy goes both ways. They aren't going to give you tons of cash for a trade in that they don't want and can't sell.

deuce trade
I just traded my 07 deuce over a week ago for a new train, i had BR'S and decent amount of chrome, oh ya plus a 204 cam, traded where I bought it and with 6700 miles, original tires and the bike near perfect condition they gave me 14,700 i though that was way fair only paying tax on the difference they sold me the 09 train for 16,200 they are starting to make deals

I bought an 04 Deuce in California for $8250 about four months ago. It had 9500 miles and about 4k in extras. I'd pass. Trading with a dealer is a terrible idea any time but this time of year it is especially so.
If you want to spend $12k I'll sell you this one.

I searched and for some time and noticed prices have dropped. I was lucky and picked up an 07 Deuce,6 speed 96 cube with extras for 13,200. Excelent mint condition. 5,200mls. they are out there and just have to take the time to loceate. I checked craigs lists on areg basis and picked this up from a dealer. I was very very fortunate. I love the bike and rides nice. The six speed makes a world of difference with the 96cube. Has some upgrades: Tack custum harley windshield, Pecks Oil Cooler and back rest. Some dealers make things sound better than they do. Do your research and search prices on ebay, craigs list and cycle trader. When I saw this bike I was ready to pay more and was very lucky to bring them down.
