I put the crome tool box left side and it looks great and was easy to install. You have to turn your passenger peg on a 45 degree angle and buy an extension for it if you do any two up riding.

I have the leather tool box mounted on the left side. I'm not sure it will be compatable with saddlebags though.

I gotta tell ya, Jeff, here's my dilemma. I got an absolutely beautiful leather Harley tool pouch fork bag for Christmas. I have an '05 Fat Boy, as you can see from the pic. I can't for the life of me figure out how to attach it to the front of my bike. I have tried every which way I can think of using the strap that came with it and I must just be an idiot. It ain't on the bike yet, but I keep thinking about it and trying it. I'd love some pics showing that too.

I finally found the bag I like. It's made by Carroll Leather and I bought it on jpcycles.com. I just finished installing new Arlenness fenders plus lots o goodies on my bike so I will post a pic with the fork bag this weekend.

I want a chrome tool bag that fits like the leather tool bag, you know what I mean? Nobody makes such a thing! I have been looking, but can not find it, I think there would be a market for it.

Here is mine, the hooks you see are a snap bag hooked to the tool bag.

I went with the Leatherworks round bag for the forks. They are hand made, come with quick release straps, and solid as a rock. http://www.scooterleather.com/lwsmrotobagy.html
For attachment I had the same problems as you until I pitched the included leather straps and went to the camping section at Academy Outdoors and bought a 1" nylon cinch strap with cam lock.
