I agree completely. When I got my MC license I rode my uncle's Lowrider for about 600 miles, then that winter I bought my 07 NT. A Nightster may be alittle less intimidating to someone that has never been on a bike before, but once you get the hang of things, your going to be wanting something bigger. Get the NT now, take is easy at first, and you will be much happier in the long run, IMO.

Last Saturday I got the bike I really wanted, the Rocker C!! it is still my first 20k 1500 cc bike and if you ask me, it is not too much bike for me. IT IS THE BIKE I WANTED!!!
Do not settle for anything less than what you want unless you can't afford it and you are dying to ride. Be careful as I've been for the past four days and ride!
I know I'm not a "seasoned rider" but I know what I like and what makes me happy!
By the way, all the bikes look good when moded right!
RHZ hit the nail on the head. Get the bike you want. Just be careful and take the safety course.

Good for a first bike. Low ride. Good power. Just do the safety course and get used to it for a few days.

IMHO if go with a Sportster you will want to trade up later. A Night Train game/match/set.

My first two choices where either a Nightster or a Rocker, but when I was at the dealership I saw the Night Train. From there on my Night Train has become my personal pride and joy with no looking back. Excellent bike to ride and badass too. Go for the NT and join the darkside =)
