JayDee, yours too, man, wow! Such a nice looking bike. Looks like I'm off to a good start because this thread has definitely attracted a lot of the bikes I've been admiring on this forum.

Thanks Chords...much appreciated!

You made a great choice on the Deluxe...those are bitchen softails and as you can see from some of the guys on this thread, they look soooooooo sick!

I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents for pipes and air intake...I went with Samson true duals with long fishtails...no baffles. If you go true duals, there is another company making nice pipes called Freedom Performance (sharktails). I love my Samson’s but I have a friend with Freedom's and man they are really nice. Just some food for thought .

As for air intake, I am running an Arlen Ness chrome big sucker kit for the intake. Basically it's a stage 1 kit, similar to what HD sells, but IMHO cleaner than the Harley system.

Don't forget that you'll need to re-map your bikes computer when you change up that exhaust and intake. I had my ECU flashed at the stealer but ended up running a PCIII as well. There are many fuel management options out there, depending on your budget you can go simple (PCIII, Fuel Pack, ect…) or complex (TMAX, SEST, TSS, ect…).

Good luck with your build, keep the pictures coming as you add goodies to the bike!

i want to add one more thing.
all of the Deluxe owners need to be sure to post up pics and details of the mods in the picture thread https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...tures-267.html
over 350,000 views and 267 pages of info.
(yes, I have studied them all ;-) )

Thanks, JayDee and AggroJo -- Will do on the pics and updates in that thread, whic hasn't been good for the wallet

About exhaust, so many choices. Don't really want anything too loud. I put a RB Racing 2 into 1 on my Nightster and it was loud and glorious, but think I want to tame it down a notch this time around.

I'm thinking V&H Duals, quiet baffles, with their fishtails, although they're probably my least favorite, looks wise. Or Samson fishtails with baffles. Or putting something together through Paughco -- like the look of their rocket tips the most. Or maybe a Roadhouse 2 into 1, but I'd have to see one in person first.

Open to other suggestions, but I think you get an idea for the look I want.

Thanks again for all the info.

The Deluxe has one of the best set-ups around. I've seen a ton of different looks and each one has fantastic appeal because the base platform is a perfect cloth to work from.

Guys, sick rides. I have been thinking of doing the same, but I am going a different route. I going to keep the wide white wall in the front. I do like the bag bars and bars.

Mimo, everytime I see your ride man it gets better looking!
