Default HD Street Slammers on a Standard

Looking to go with the HD Street Slammer bars for my '06 Standard. Wondering if anyone out there has gone this route...maybe see some pics? Are they comfortable? Also, I have a Progressive lowering kit for the rear I want to put on. Goes to 2 inch max. If I go the full 2, will I bottom out and do I need to do the front or can I leave it as is. I weight about 210 and usually ride alone...wife hates the seat (heh heh).

Thanks,
Vinny

Hey Vinnie

Cant help you with your question on the lowering bolts, but heres a few pics of my standard with street slammers. I find them comfortable for my set up. I have 3" forward extensions, and a C&C seat which is a lower profile than stock.

Hope this helps.

I have Street Slammers on my '06 Standard
Don't have much time with them (since they were put on late late fall..)
But I like them better than the Drag Bars that were on
I also use a LePera Bare Bones Solo seat

Just to throw my two cents in, I've seen quite a few Softail Standards, Deuces and Fatboys with the Street Slammers....I personally think they look sweet on these models...They give the bike a "tougher, meaner" look....

I run the Street Slammers on my night train with a C@C sport touring. I can go all day on that combination. I rode 1300 miles in one day. Pretty much a 18 hour ride from MD to FL. There are other choices though out there. I wouldn't mind having slightly more pull back but I am happy with what I got. Good quality. With the street slammers you dont need to change any of the brake or clutch lines. If you dont ride two up then get the C@C sport seat. I love the way I sit in the saddle. I am 6'3 and it is low and back. It has good back support. I am probably gonna get a lepera for the bar hoping scene(poser) and send the C@C back to get gel in it for the wife when we ride to the FL keys. Im tellin you wont be disappointed with the selection of the seat. I lowered mine an 1.5 front and 1.5 in the back. From the pic you can see what happens when she rides. It hurt her when she hit bumps. I could hear the air leaving her body. My trip to FL hurt when I hit bridges and pot holes. That is why i went with the air suspension. Some people say it doesnt bother them when they lower it..... bull$hat... It is not so much pain but annoying as hell. If your gonna lower it that route just do progressive shocks. the lowering kit blows. Just my 2 cents!!! If you plan on doing some real riding and not bar hoping then do yourself that favor and spend a couple bucks.

Frederick MD to Venice FL... about 18 1/2 to 19 hours and approximately 1200 some change..... Doin average of 90mph the whole way down. You will die if you follow the pack of cagers on rt 95. We werent playin around that day. Having a badge helps for speeding. Luckily they didnt care for us. Hell the cops followed us in FL on alligator alley down to miami. Then turned around and headed back two days later from Venice. I think it was 2600 total miles.
