Default 07 Deuce

Just looking for the best 200 tire deuce conversions. I have seen a few one from heartland thats very nice but expensive. Looking for military discounts too. Been in for 10 years so hopefully someone can cut me some slack and help me out. I have done a few things to my deuce so far such as handlebars, aircleaner and pipes but i would love to see a 200 wide tire kit or bigger on the back. If anyone can help me out and point me in the right direction that would be great thanks.

If you don't want to spend big $$$ just put the SE 180 very little difference in the size. you can use the stock wheel. i used the vulcan spacer kit $49.

I agree, if money's no object go for the 200. If you want to change wheels you could go with a 18" x 5.5" wheel on a 180-55-18 tire and not have to mess with the fender, strut, ect. to fit the 200 tire. Easiest way of all would be the SE 180 tire. JMO

I swapped out the stock 160mm for a 200mm Metz on my 07 Deuce. The 200mm fits with the stock swingarm but i needed to change the belt out for a narrower one (which involved removing the swingarm and taking the primary apart). I'm also running a chromed lower belt guard and the HD part for the 2007 doesn't fit if you go for the 200mm and you'll need to use the 2006 version... i think the dealer who did the install for me also needed to grind a bit of it out to ensure clearance. My rim is an 18 x 5.5 Arlen Ness and a spacer was also required to keep it all centred but i don't have dimensions on the spacer - it will be determined by the rim and hub you run. You'll also need to check clearance under the rear fender. Consider also the requirements of the pulley (width).

Here's the changeover parts needed from HD:
- New belt - 40655-06
- Oil seal inner primary - 12052A
- Gasket primary housing - 34934-06
- Gasket primary cover - 60547-06
- Lubricant (quart) - 99851-05
- 06 lower belt guard - 60316-00A

As part of the changeover process i had my dealer fit a 180mm (cheaper option as it's a straight swap for the 160mm) and then fit the 200mm. The 200mm fills the fender up much more. Seeing them side by side I went with the 200mm... the 20mm isn't a lot but it is noticeable.

06 Deuce,

Did the Vulcan kit just allow you to use their spacers and slap a 180 tire on with no other modifications. What size and brand 180 tire did you go with?

I used the Hogpro kit... www.hogpro.com The kit consists of a 18x5.5 wheel, 200 tire and the 20 mm belt, pulley and guards that are on 60 up fxst/nt. It's all bolt on(no mods) So you get the parts together yourself and save some $$$
