Default Power Commander 5 on a 2008 Fat Boy

Well, the pipes are on, the stage 1 A/C is on, (with a deteriorated stock A/C at 3800 miles, see picture below ) but I can not in any way get the PC 5 to fit without the seat cracking something. Moving the ECM up as per the instructions will not work due to the rear seat mounting studs, and the seat hits the ECM connector no matter what. I am pretty dissapointed as after long and hard research, I really wanted the PC5. I have tried every angle! Has anyone tried this install yet? I guess I am looking at a SERT with a DYNO.

I don't have the PC5, but I do have a PC3, and that was a tough booger to fit under the seat. Don't give up on it just yet...you should be able to get it to fit one way or another.

I don't have a PC III or V but the instructions I've seen for installing the PC III on a Softail show it mounted behind the fender around the alarm module with the cable running up to the ECM under the seat. Could the PC V be mounted the same way?

I thought the Power Commander 5 was only for 2009's. At least that's what it says on the Power Commander website.

I talked to a guy from fuelmoto yesterday. He said the PC-V goes right on top of the battery. He said they show it on the dyno jet website but I haven't looked yet. If it does go right on top of the battery then you must have to remove the round rubber that's between the bottom of the seat and the battery.
Post back what the fix is as I'm thinking I'm going the PC-5 route too.

I don't have a PC V but have had two PC III's. On my 08 Deluxe, it was too tight under the seat. Put it between the mudguard and back of the battery box area where there was lots of room. Just had to run the cable up through. Give that a try and I think you will be successful in mounting it in a way that won't lead to it getting mashed.

I just used the link ngoti8tor supplied. It shows the install under support. Check it out and post back when you're done. Tell us all how it went.
What exhaust did you go with?

Everything goes well as far as mounting the PC5 on the battery. The unit itself is nice and small. My problem lies with the ECM connections. The fuse and relay box are one of the obstacles. The instructions mention a single bolt on top of the ECM caddy, which I remove along with the ECM holder to allow the ECM to be moved up.. IN sliding the ECM up, it hits the two rear seat studs when allowing room for the two harness plugs below. No matter how I position those two plugs, the seat will not set down in place. I have tried every angle to no avail. My set up is different from the instructions.

I didn't think there would be that much differance in the 08 and 09. I have my bike torn down a liitle in the rear. I'll look to see what might be moved. Maybe the fuse caddy or block can be moved down. I'm not likeing the mounting on the mud gaurd as for dirt and water.

That's also why I was considering the TTS Master tune. No piggy backin' involved.
