Default ECM temperature sending on 2005 FLSTC?

I have a Dakota Digital speedo/tach installed and while reading Dakota's instructions I came to a part that says it will read temperature only if the data is being supplied by the ECM on my cycle. Apparently some models do and some don't. So, after having read my Clymer manual and not being able to find anything on this I figured someone here would know the answer. Does the 2005 Heritage Classic's ECM supply temp data over an ECM data bus? Mine is the carburetor model. Thank you.

If you have a fuel injected bike I would say that your ECM reads the temprature some how. It has a heat management mode that kicks in when your bike gets too hot in the FI models. It richens the air fuel mixture and cuts out on ignition so the temp or at least a signal has to go to the ECM.
