wiring a sidemount license plate / light
Anyone know why a harness would keep my sidemount from flashing the brake light when applied?
I've rerouted all the factory wiring to keep the connectors working for the computer. I even wired it up before heat shrinking the wires and added new pins and sockets. So now all I can come up with is that I've wired a couple wires to the wronge mate. Any other ideas? Anyone had a simular problem with the factory harness? Also I had turn signals working and now they dont is there a reset by unbolting the battery? The tail light itself will burn but no braklight or turnsignals.I read the thread about the brake not having a disk in it thats not my case. Please help its sunny outside and I've got cabbin fever.

Hey Blinck
Ok, you should have one black and brown for one flasher.
One black and violet for the other flasher. The other wires
are for your tail light and your license plate light. So match
your black to black, blue to blue and now you should be left
with two orange wires. Try one of them to the red from your
side plate and if that one doesn't work try the other one. I
just did it on my softail Deuce 05 and now everything works
just fine. Keep me posted bro.

The orange wire is coming from the main harness of wires correct? I've taken the plug off the factory tail light and spliced in to the sidemount blk,rd,bl. What I've found is that the red and blue need to be reversed.
So I really don't have a orange wire to run unless I bypass the plug and wire directly into the main harness. But the kicker is that I had it running before I heat shrunk all the wires so I'm not sure if one may be crossed or if I made a short and now need to find the tripped fuse before I can go any further, but the fuses under the seat are all fine . Some how this got complicated. HMMMM

Hey Blinck
I thought it was my license plate mount only but I had
to reverse my blue and red wires to. As for the harness.
I took the part that starts from next to the fuse box and
reconfigured it from there. So I kept the factory clips and
added wiring to it.
Do you have a resister on your ground going to the tail light?
If so that might have burnt out. Keep me posted bro.

well I got it figured out first the wires I had written down that came out of each socket got screwed up Ihad to move the red pin position over one socket and flip the red and blue wires, as for the turn signals it did blow a accessory fuse but the main deal is that the circutboardhas to be bolted down to keep all the connections tight electricity 101 .i think I had sleep deprivasion and I had just looked at it too long . I came back the next night looked at it five min. and had it plus I read the scamatic that always helps.
Thanks for your help.
