Default 88 Heads and Cylinders

I have a chance to purchase a set off a guy I work with. They have less than 4000 miles on them, he upgraded to SE setup.

Any idea what they are worth? I would like to offer him a fair price.

Future upgrades??? Maybe bored and polished then diamond cut !

Maybe $150-$200 for the whole set. Check your local indy to see if they have any. Where I'm at there a dime a dozen. Hell I have a set of stock heads & cylinders for a 96" that have less than 3500 on them. If you get them diamond cut, go for the (show) cut. It's a $100 more but worth it. I had mine done and would recommend it if your looking for some extra bling.

Jugs are not worth much- $50/$75. Jugs are readily available here, craigslist, eBay...

If the heads are off an 06, they are something as is - stock and with only 4ooo miles. The exhaust port is a bit larger, valve seats were improved... much better heads than previous years. But, if you are going to have those worked on, why spend the money, just have yours worked on.

I am one of those guys that has to have everything sitting in front of him before starting a project. I do not like to wait on something in the middle of a project. I want to be able to pull the bike in the garage and pull the top end off, and put the new one on. Then ready to roll!

Makes sense. Unfortunately more time than money here so the $100-$200 could pay for pistons and rings or a rebore and bearings or cams or some head work...
