Default seat removal

I have a '02 Heritage Classic. Owner's manual instructions for seat removal don't work. Any hints?

What exactly did you do to try and take the seat off?

It should be one bolt on the rear fender and two bolts opposite each other above the oil tank under a leather flap of the seat

Did that and it won't budge. Do the bolts on the side have to be completely removed? It appears that the springs under the bolt heads should be enough to disengage from the seat bracket.

Tom: One bolt top of fender and two bolts on sides, all have a spring under the bolt head which I think disengages bolt from the seat bracket. Seat won't move at all.

The front of your seat has a tounge that sets in a slot to keep the front stable. Loosen all three screws and pull back and up it should come off.

Sometimes you have to pull on the 2 bolts to disengage from the threaded part in the frame. Just give them a tub, not a yank.

David: Thanks! The last thread or two was still not out: a pressure on the seat and a tug on the bolt did it.
