Default HD Oil Dipstick Temp Guage

Installation was a breeze![sm=trust_me.gif] I've only had it a couple of weeks, but so far it has been $30 well spent. I always hated feeling the oil tank heatin up underneath my legs and not knowin how hot it actually was. I don't know how accurate these guages are, but its a little bit of vital engine info that I enjoy keepin an eye on. The only bad part is I have to get very discontorted to read it going down the road. [sm=yikesomg.gif]

I agree its a great part . No reason it should not come with all bikes from the factory. Fact that its from Taiwan sucks though.

I was told not to get one because it would drive me crazy in the summer months... Always looking down to see the temp...

Yup, it does! However, I like having the ability to keep tabs on things such as temp.

You can get a reasonable idea of the accuracy by filling a pan with water, boiling it, and sticking the thermometer in it.

Plus it'll give you the "room" temp of the oil on a cool bike ..... acting like a thermometer (86 degree oil = 86 degrees outside). Kinda stoopid little common-sense thing that occured to me one morning berfore I fired my bike up.

Seriously ..... Don't laugh!!

Anyone know what temp the oil tank should hover around?
