Default Heated Grips

Can anyone tell me how many hours are listed for the fitment of a pair of heated grips to warm me old pinkies while riding the 'Bones on a chilly day, please?

Just trying to weigh up the pros & cons of letting someone else fit them or grappling around in an unheated lockup..

Well for that kind of money, I would say that a Gerbing's heated G3 glove with a controller will keep your hands much more comfortable than heated grips as they will cost about the same (not counting install). I have heard the heated grips have had a lot of problems with failure and don't last too long. They will also only heat the palm of your hand, a heated glove (plug in not battery) will heat both sides of your hand. Just some food for thought.

Edit: http://heatedclothingoutlet.com/index.shtml also sells Gerbing's heated clothing at discounted prices, so you could end up with a jacket liner too for the same price as the grips.

+1 for SonarChris. I have the Gerbing Gaunlet heated glove. Purchased from Gerbing website. I also have heated grips only because I replaced my bars, so I used the Kuryakyn heated elements that go inside the handlebar ($100), with 4 zone control.

So I got the bestr of both worlds, heated grips for palms, and gloves for backside..

If you go with Gerbing, they are lifetime warranty. Don;t buy from local HD. Warranty is only for 1 year!!

I have dealer installed heated grips on both bikes and had no problems so far. I wear leather gloves that have extra padding on the outside of the fingers and at the knuckles and have ridden at 34 degrees with no problem. Heated gloves probably are warmer though.

How do you plug these gloves into the bike?

Gerbing gives you a battery and glove harness. You connect the battery harness like you would a battery tender. Then just plug gloves into the connector and your good to go...

Thanks for the comments guys, I've got a Gerbings heated jacket but I've also got some grips from a mate & wondered what was involved fitting. Lots of bits in the bag but no instructions.

If it's only an hours dealer time, it looks worth it!! Got an unheated garage to work in, y'see..
