good pics and post. BTW, I didn;t remove pipes to get at the xsmission cover. I just lossened pipe at the headers, and at the muffler clamps. If you use a ball type allen wrench, you can loosen bottom bolts up enough to get the cover out.
Here the clutch cable has been removed.......take care when unscrewing the housing from the cover.......the threaded part is very thin and easy to break. The cable end slips out of a slot in the ramp (the round piece that the cable attaches to) after removing the large circlip. Special tools are helpful here.........that's a biiig clip! Notice the clutch cable housing O-ring......it needs replacing with a new one. Also notice the anti-sieze stick......coat the threads of the new clutch cable housing to reduce the chances of crossthreading and breaking your new expensive clutch cable's housing in the side cover. It can happen very easily........ask me how I know..........
So I ended up breaking my housing on the clutch cable... How did you get the threaded part out of the clutch release cover after it broke off? I tried hammering in a torx but it would just spin.
hi - Im about to install one of the HCC complete kits - I went for the 18" chubby apes complete with the chrome switch housings all pre-wired...this info will be invaluable....Thanks
Be very careful sliding the tank back or you will scratch the f#$k out of the rocker cover on the right side if your crossover hose clamp is stock. It rubs right along the top of your rocker. Trust me I did it.......so put a rag on top of your motor ...

I cut a square of cardboard off of a box lid and placed it between the clamp and the top of the rocker box cover.
