I haven't seen one yet. What I did was buy a Heritage Springer Seat Rail which has a second rail along the top and then buy the backrest pad that fits on that. The stock Seat Rail and the Heritage are exatly the same mounting type so it bolts right in after you take the stock rail off. There are 2 type of pads available. One is low and the other is a bit higher.

The Pads are availbale in the Harley accesories catalog, but the rail is not. I have the part numbers if you are interested.

It is not detachable, but it gives the seat a whole new look.

I will add that if you intend to use the passanger seat it is a tight fit with Heritage Spinger seat rail. I have my bike set up for solo and it looks great from behind.

I'll try and get some pictures up.

Wow, I was just asking my dealer about buying that rail yesterday!

Could you post part numbers? Maybe even a photo of your setup?

Thanks!

I am updating this post because it seems as the part number for the rail I listed comes up as the single rail Deluxe type. Some where along the line recently they have discontinued the Heritage Springer Rail and is no longer available. I might have gotten one of the older boxes from Harley which contained the correct Springer Rail.

Here is the order info. Not cheap but I think worth it since there aren't any other choices with the stock seat. I'll try and get a picture posted tomorrow night.

52826-97 (1) $ 70.06 (Low Backrest pad)

Thank you!

Dealer said it wasn't an available part when I asked.

I heard that too, but when I found the part number I figured I would give it a try. It might be that once they are gone Harley won't supply them anymore. Zanotti's didn't have it in stock when I ordered it and was pretty surprised when it showed up at my door.

Many thanks to Mike for the recommendation on the backrest for the stock Deluxe seat. The seat rail is hard to find as it's no longer available through HD. I found 2 that were up for auction on eBay on the same day. Got one for $120. Best accessory I've put on the bike - will save my aging back!!!
