"DYNO" Numbers For SOFTAILS
#791
See Signature for mods... The lower hp/torque numbers were another bike with same set up minus cams.
I love the extra power, but I was not prepared for how rough the bike runs at low speeds... i.e. riding through the neighborhood at 30 mph in 3rd gear (2000 rpm).
Would upgraded heads work better with the cam and smooth it out, or would it make the ride even more choppy?

sorry, i know that is not a helpful answer (its my inside voice coming out) but i think harley tuner is right (he knows way more than i ever will) it needs to be tuned for all ranges

More work to be done
Love the build but hate the VH big shot staggered. Several runs on the dyno working on that dip at 2 different tuners/dynos. They all said the same thing including Jamie at fuelmoto... PIPES! Ordering Rinehart 2-1 sometime this week! Unless someone has a better option on the pipes but looks and research points me to those. Sound is also important as I don't want to be the person that nobody wants to ride behind but I do want to here my engine rolling down the road. Build is in my sig....

Grats on the build. Very nice numbers.
Surprised we don't see more Mutant Motors/Grasser builds. Especially after press like this;

"Bike Week 2012-Wolfgang Grasser Rules at Brute Horsepower Shootout"
This year's Brute Horsepower Shootout event was a big hit and will be remembered for the crowds, food and motorcycle engines that revved up to earn contest bragging rights.
Wolfgang Grasser, a WyoTech alumnus who graduated in 1990 from WyoTech in Daytona, powered his 2003 Harley Davidson FXR with a 98ci V-Twin motor to 176.45 HP and victory and claimed his eighth "Shootout victory" win.

"Surprised we don't see more Mutant Motors/Grasser builds"
Wolfgang definitely know his way around an engine and how to get the most out of the tune. He talked me into the 58mm TB for this relatively mild build. With his heads flowing 290 intake/230 exhaust, I understand why now.
He's the real deal.

You cam has a narrow Lobe Separation Angel (LSA) of 100.5 deg and 40 deg of overlap. This (along with your tune) plays a major roll in your low speed drivability. If you have had your bike professionally tuned and are still unhappy with the low speed drivability of your current cam you may want to consider a cam with a wider LSA and less overlap.
