I would be interested in this topic. We all agree that seat would get hot if you have to go through stop and go trafffic. What I am wondering is if there are heat shield that can be made under the seat. I also think that wider front seat may help. But, I can not try wider seat as I am not that tall only 5'8". I know alot of heat shield from car is made of aluminum or carbon fiber.... Carbon fiber may be an answer.. searching google...

As I recall, that was one of the knocks on gel inserts - they tend to feel hot, especially in the warmer climates. While the engine temperature plays a significant part, and reducing your engine temps will certainly reduce any perceived heat, I do believe the gel inserts in and of themselves are inherantly problematic from that perspective.

I would say tunaman is right, its your gel pad in the seat. they get hot and can actually burn you, from what guys on here say. I did touch a seat this summer in the sun with a gel pad and it was super hot. I would think you could pull the cover and replace the gel pad with some memory foam. I have also read a sheepskin cover works, as said before, too.

I don't have a problem with my bare bones on my 05' but your 07' is set up alot leaner and runs alot hotter like my 08'. Get some Xied's or a Fuel Pack and dump a little more fuel in her and cool that motor down. It'll make a differance.

Same deal here, bought a Kuryakyn Saddle Shield and lined the bottom of my saddle with Thermo-Tec Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier. Bought them both at Amazon, and they work remarkably well.

Good Luck.
