Default Chrome forward controls w/o master cylinder?

I am looking for a chrome set of forward controls for my 98 FXSTC but so far I only came up with sets that include a new master cylinder. I would like to find a nice set that does not include a new master cylinder due to the pain of having a custom brak line made. My brother has the same bike and has a set sold by Karyakyn but when I called them they no longer make or sell a set for the 98 model. If anyone knows of a particular set I would really appreciate the info or link. Thanks!

Oh, I would like to stay under $600 since there is no master cylinder involved.

Did you try ebay? Do a search for forward controls. Here are a couple 4622553019 & 4622640799 & 4622746199. Is the second one like the one your brother has? They look like they would use the stock m.c.

Excuse my ignorance but why would you need a custom brake line made? Can't you just buy a brake line in a different length? I only ask because I put forwards on my Springer last fall and added 3" Ness extensions. The extension kit came with a longer brake line and all I had to do is pop off the old and run the new and longer one in its place. Brake lines are sold in different lengths. What am I missing here?

I'm no brake expert but when I was at my local HD dealer asking about the forward controls they told me I would have to order the controls and install the brake side and then take a measurement for the new brake line and have them order it to fit.

I don't see what the big deal is. If I was unsure about the length of the line I would buy the forwards of my choice and hold the brake side up to where they mount and I would measure the difference in length between the stock controls (master cylinder connection) and the new one. Add that length to whatever length the stock one is and presto...order a brake line. I'd still be riding with my stock controls until the line came in. Unless I'm missing the bigger picture here I don't see the big deal. Maybe this is your dealers way of saying 'bring it in and let us install them'.

Let me add that buying controls with a master cylinder included will definitely increase the selection to choose from.
