18" Ape hangers lines lenght??? For a Softail
I need help with the ape's clutch, idle/throttle, front brake lines lenght...
The apes are on their way here but no seller will advice on the suggested lenght needed for the lines... Like if it was rocket science to calculate a fuggin' chart for the stock plus "x" models, it would make placing orders so much easier...
Well, anyone with a Softail (mine is a '99 carbed Fat Boy) and 18" apes??? Soemone who knows which lenght should I get... I don't want to wait another month from the date in which I receice the bars in order to get the lines...
Any advice will be highly apreciated,
Mimo.

Mimo-
I just finished installing 18" Carlini fly'in apes on a 07 heritage. For the clutch I used +10 brake & throttle used +12. I think I should have used +14 on the throttle/idle to give more of a "natural" bend. The cables I use are magnum chromite and are very nice.
For what it's worth I'd make sure that I'd have more than enough length in the cables an inch or two can always be routed to where it works out nicely unlike if they are too short you have no choice. Good luck & have fun..oh yeah I'd also advise the plug in wire extensions, novello, instead of trying to solder the wires together that was a bit of bitch..
