Default left grip came off in a downhill turn

I had some performance machine grips installed last week. I was going to do it myself but the dealer only wanted $20 and did it on my lunch break. Last weekend when riding in the mountains, I felt the left grip loosen and almost slide off the bar. I was able to hold it on there until I could tighten the set screws at the next stop. Other than putting threadlock on the set screws, is there a good way to keep this from happening again? Can I put grip glue on a billet grip? Shoe goo? I don't really trust those tiny screws anymore.

wrap&nbsp\\;a layer of tape around the handlebar to make an extra snug fit then screw it down

Grip glue.&nbsp\\; Put the Kuryakyn Iso Grips on my bike a month ago and they don't have set screws... just the grip glue.&nbsp\\; No problems.

Greetings,
&nbsp\\;
Also scuff up your bars a bit before putting the glue on...will help it adhere better.

I had pro ones. Scuff up the bar and put the glue on. It will hold.

**** that grip glue it sucks!!! My kury grip did the samething when I got caught in some heavy rain one nite... Two way tape wrap it just like you would re grip a golf club then work the grip back on. Worked for me!

Surprised there are not more strings/posts on this. Hopefully this means that these set screws usually hold the grip in place. I will be using thread locker. I cannot use grip glue b/c I'm using Battistinis and you can see the bar underneath. I'm debating about drilling dimples in bars where the set screws will be. I'd really rather not compromise the surface and give water/moisture a foothold but also don't want my grip to come loose while riding.
