Springer / Deuce Question

Springer / Deuce Question
Just yesterday I went to the dealer with a buddy who swore he would never own a Harley, but his is now bitten by the bug. We test rode
Dyna Low Rider
Softail Standard
I hadn't ridden either before. We both loved the Softail and didn't care for the Dyna Low Rider, but for different reasons. I was just cramped on it. Anyway............
He is enamored with the ride and ergos of the Softail but really likes the Springer or maybe the Deuce.
Can anyone comment on the ride of the Springer vs. the Softail Standard in terms of
1. Is the reach to the bars a lot different in feel?
2. How does the front end feel with the Springer shock vs. conventional.
They don't have a Springer to test ride and I have heard conflicting comments on the ride of the Springer. Man, it is a sweet look, though.
I am partial to the Deluxe, but that is another platform altogether.
Thanks.

RE: Springer / Deuce Question
I ride an 05 Springer and I thoroughly enoy the ride. I haven't compared the ride to other models, all that I knew was that I wanted one based on the looks of the springer front end. It reminds me of the old customs that I saw growing up. I like the mechanics of it as opposed to the front ends of the other bikes. It is unique in its styling. It has a 21 inch narrow tire and I don't have any problems on the road with it wondering all over the place. While I am not an authority on the rides of other Harleys, I have no problems with the ride or the handling of my Springer. Good luck

RE: Springer / Deuce Question
I bought a Springer in the blind, having ridin nothing but a Hertiage Classic and a Dyna Wide Glide. I have no regrets, the added weight of the front end makes for very stable turning, in my opinion it was hands down better in the corners than my dads wide glide. Im sure if you took it through the whoops at a supercross race it would show some weekness. Ive had mine since september '05 and wouldnt trade it for any other HD model if given the chance.
