Default Got the 02 Fatboy

I've been asking some questions here lately about softails, engines and Fatboys. Well yesterday I bought the 02 FB. Had 6500 miles on it and it's black(my personal favorite for bikes). Demoed it in the morning and when I came back I knew I had to have it. Ran so smooth and not a hiccup or odd sound or bad feel or anything. You can just feel when they are right. $14.8 if anyone's interested. Probably could have got them down a little lower. They were asking $15,450 and didn't argue one bit about my $14.8 offer. It's carbed, stage 1 and has Python slip ons. I really didn't want loud pipes(with earlplugs they sound just right) but these are not too bad. Will have to crawl out of the neighborhood. My second Harley. First was an 05 Sportster. I didn't have that too long and went back to metric. Thought my Suzuki C90 was going to be my last bike (great bike, BTW) but after riding the FB, the FB is really a better bike. Better suspension(ride), more solid feel and more torque and performance with the stage 1. Just all around smoother ride. I've had many bike's in the last few years (started riding late in life) to try and find the one that really makes me smile. This is it. That's the story.

Welcome back to the H-D family. My first bike in 1968 was a Honda 160 Dream. I had a few other metrics (about all I could afford) but got a 1946 Knuckle in bad shape in the fall of 1969. I put all the pieces back together and rode it for a year and a half. The frame broke on both rails between the engine and transmission. I had just gotten married and needed the money so I sold it. It took me 34 years to get another Harley ('05 Heriatage Classic, new). It's late in life for me too, but I cherish every minute of it.

Welcome back to the fold. I just bought an '01 Fatboy back in October. Sounds like you got a great price on the bike. Congrats.
