Default '02 Fatboy and 130mm Tires

Found a 2002 FB I'm interested in but didn't realize they come stock in that year with a 130mm tires front and rear. I would like to know from people out there with a 2002 (or earlier, I assume) how the feel of the ride is with such a narrow tire(by today's standards, anyway). I was really surprised to see it on the bike. Also, can the tire size be upgraded without changing the wheels? Just seems like there would be some issues with traction with so little rubber on the road. Thanks in advance for the help.

I had a Heritage with 130's on it and swapped it to a Standard with 150 rear and 90 front. Both about the same with same type of tire. Tire choice makes a difference on both. Like I said it once before, we don't ride them hard enough to notice the difference. The fatter one looks better.

I have a 94 Heritage and have 130 Avon Venoms fitted and have no problems with traction, you forget that it wasn't that long ago that Japanese superbikes were running skinny tyres and doing extreme high speeds that any stock Harley could only dream about. You will run out of clearance before you need to worry about how skinny your tyres are.I would be more worried about the brand of tyres you choose rather than the width

I had an 2000 Fatboy and rode it like a raped ape, ground a good inch off the floorboards leaning into corners and never had a problem. M.
