Default Tank emblem

Got an 06 night train with the metal HD emblam attached with I assume a heavy duty 2 sided tape. How to remove if I want to do some stuff to the tank without hurting the original paint job. I certainley can't exactley take a heat gun to the tank to loosen the adhesive. Anybody do this before?

Heat it up with a hair dryer then spray WD40 on the tape and it will start loosening.&nbsp\\; Once the emblem is off, you can use WD40 to remove the tape residue.

Same as oldgeezer
I found hair dryer and WD-40 works the best.

If you can find Goo Gone, use that. It just dissolves the glue, but doesn't hurt the paint.

Cheers!

3-M Adhesive remover......buy it at autoparts stores....(specialty paint shops stock it as well.....the ones who sell paint to auto-body shops)
&nbsp\\;
Works like a charm.&nbsp\\; Kills the adhesive and not your paint......absolutely safe..........used it on mine to remove the 05 Deluxe emblems.
&nbsp\\;
Cheers,

Dunno about the foam. but to get it off, hair dryer and fishing line as others have stated. I have found that, in my professional opinion, that Acrysol Body Solvent is the best. Hands down gets EVERYTHING off and its paint safe. Does remove wax REALLY well so after you clean the tank and get the new emblem on, you'll want to get a good coat of wax on her.

Try body shop supplier or 3M products.
