Default Removing Baffles from stock pipes

My Rocker came in last weekend and I am waiting on Vance and Hines to come out with the correct Big Radius pipes for it.&nbsp\\; In the meantime...is there a way to remove some baffles from the stock pipes to improve the sound of the bike?

Should be a couple of different ways to get some more sound out of the stock pipes.

I suggest not touching your stock mufflers. Wait until the vance and hines come in and then switch them out. Keep the stock in case the United States progresses to Communism as many agree is happening.

If&nbsp\\;you&nbsp\\;want a little more sound from the stock pipes, you can make them sound comparable to the SE slip-ons for about $10 and 30min of effort.Go to the local hardware store and buy a metal hole saw and a drill bit extension.&nbsp\\; Take the mufflers off and measure the diameter of the opening at the connection end. You need&nbsp\\;the biggest&nbsp\\;metal cutting hole saw that will fit down the opening, but turn freely. I believe it was a 1 3/8". All you do from this point is drill until the plug falls out the other end. You're not really drilling the baffle, just the&nbsp\\;quarter sized plug in the end.&nbsp\\;

I knocked the baffles out of the stock mufflers o my 06 Softail Standard. It did make it louder, but it was a raspy, shitty sound instead of the rumble I wanted.
&nbsp\\;
I ended up getting a SuperTrapp 2 into 1 with the tunable discs, now it rumbles nicely without shaking the neighbor's windows.

first year of a new bike there is always a wait for pipes I bought my deluxe in 04 its an 05 and had to wait over a year for any thing at all. Best bet is to wait it out or go with a set of slip ons like cycle shack they are pretty nice sounding and also a good performer. Then when something come out you really like go for it

My advice would be to wait and leave the stock pipes alone.Here in Oz most people keep there stock pipes standard in case you need to put them back on at a later stage.

Be patient my friend........

Ummmm am I missing something? A guy on the forum was selling a bracket to make the vance and hines big radius work on the rocker. That would be your best bet with no waiting if he is still making them. Pretty sure that was the only hitch with the standard big radius for other softails, and he solved that problem. Or if you wanna wait for vance and hines to make the same bracket...to each his own.
