I paid 15k for an 02 Fatbpy recently as well. I bought it private party though. The dealer round here doesn't have anything used for less than 20k. It was set up exactly how I wanted it, had pm brakes, the right brs and a lot of extra chrome. It also had a detachable windshield, an extra seat, and some t bags luggage. 11100 miles in pristine condition. I had never paid anything near to this for a motorcycle before, but am happy with the decision I have made. I have the efi which I love. I just found a bike that had everything I wanted on it so I wouldnt have to spend anything on accesories. If your considering used, check out cycle trader.com and hd trader online. The market is soft on used ones if you are interested in putting in te work to find the right one. I am extremely happy with this purchase and I havent had a problem with it. It was serviced at the dealer always. I do all the work on it myself. Good lick. I say find a used on with the pipes you want for that price. Just be wary of bikes with too many engine mods.

I test rode the 02 FB tonight. First there was a sensor light that came on. The dealer said it was a crank position sensor or something like that. Then when I rode the bike and moving along at about 65 mph one of the rear wheel bearings failed and caused a wobble in the rear wheel. At first I thought I was going down but that didn't happen. This bike only has 6 thousand miles on it. Does that say something about 02 Fatboys? This just could be a lemon. It does happen. Probably should stay away from it. What do ya think?

How many miles? how long did it sit without riding it? was it outside covered?

People need to know this type of thing before anyone can help!

Good Luck!

Paid 14,995 for this with 1,500 miles on it (no, that is not a mis- print).

Most of the bikes in the 13-14k range I looked at had 30-40k on them.

Don't know the answer to your question other than total miles is 6,000. Since it's an 02, that's not many miles in 4 years. Do wheel bearings go bad on a bike that just sits unused for long periods?
