Default Deuce frt. turn signal relocation

I picked up a frt turn signal relocation kit for my 06 deuce. The instructions say to remove the gas tank and disconnect the turn signal wires. Why couldn't I simply cut the wires inside the turn signal housings and resolder them at the correct length?

I don't think you even have to do that. I have always simply tucked the excess wiring under the front of the tank.

Pull all extra wire from under tank and move turn turn signals. Just make your new connection next to tank and the tuck the connection under tank when done.Just make sure you leave enough wire to push under tank.

Thats what i did.

The only hard thing was trying to hide the wires around the forks. If you have any moe questions just e-mail me.

Thanks guys. Sounds simple enough without having to go thru the tank removal

Pulling the tank wasn't that big a deal when I moved my signals; of course it was about dry and I've got a carbed bike, so it was just a matter of pulling the connector hose and draining the fuel then pulling the hose from the petcock. I'm a better mechanic than electrician, so the tank would be easier for me than resoldering the signals.
