On sunday we rode down to the Red River bike ralley in NM. It was about a 450 mile trip there and back. This is the first time she has rode 2 up with me and by the time we were about half way back her backside was killing her. My question is, I've seen a lot of post about Mean City Cyclescustomizing seats. I was wondering if anyone herehas used them andis the seat that much more comfortable after they redo them.Any info would be very helpful. I wantto keep her happy so that she will want to ride more.
I also have a Fatboy, and I switched to a HD Sundowner, it has a nice deep bucket with back support for the rider, and plenty of cushion for the passanger. I like it and my wife swears by it!
My wife had the same problem. I switched the seat on my Softail Custom to a Mustang and added a better sissy bar and backrest. Problem solved for us. Everyone's different, but Mustang is worth checking out.
I don't care what seat you have, her first ride being 450 miles is going to do that. She needs to ride more often so those longer rides don't bother her.

+1 on the sundowner. the wife and i have spent many a day in the saddle with one. she hits me now every time she gets on her new passenger pillon, and the fact that i switched bikes...lol again.
Every thing needs a break in period.
No matter what seat you have.
Let her know when you get home that you
will rub down the sore area. That always helps'
Just takes time to break in that Butt.
