Default 2002 FATBOY Info

I am looking to purchase an '02 Fatboy. I don't know much about them. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Questions are below:

Do the solid wheels have an impact while riding on windy days?
Any concerns with the TC88 Carburated engine?
Does the bike have much vibration at higher speeds (75mph)?
The bike has a little over 5k miles on it and is clean.

Overall, are the fatboys a good bike crusing around town and maybe small trips (2-3 hour rides).

Any info about Fatboys would be greatly appreciated.

Robert

Not more than any other bike. Opinions will vary...I think the solid wheel/wind thing is a myth.

Any concerns with the TC88 Carburated engine?
I have an 04' Carbed with 30K and zero issues.

Does the bike have much vibration at higher speeds (75mph)?
A little buzzing above 75 but nothing to worry about.

It's the perfect bike....for longer trips too! Although somtimes I wish I had anE-Glide for 300+ mile daytrips.

Any info about Fatboys would be greatly appreciated.
Do a search on Fatboy's....that should keep ya busy pretty much all day [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
I will say they have one of the largest aftermarket followings.

In the end it boils down to which bike fits you best.

My bike is an 02 carbed. It has 15,000 miles on it and has been very good to me. No problems at all. I don't find the wheels to be an issue and I'd say it's pretty smooth at speed. You can do longer trips with it, depnding on how you deal with longer trips. I rode it to Sturgis and back in 02 which was 1,000 miles on way trip for us with a badlander seat on it and no windshield. You'll love the bike.

i have an 04 carbed fatboy about 10k on it. never had any issue with it at all. the solid wheels doesn't effect you in the wind. i can run 75-80 all day with out a problem. i do wish for a 6 speed though. i can't of any bike i'd trade it in for even a new one.

good luck

bill

I have an 04 carbed fatboy, I was looking for for fuel injection but came across a deal I couldn't pass up. I love this bike, just pull out the enricherand it starts right up and runs great. I don't have many miles on it yet, but I have been paying attention to the solid wheel thing and I can't see any difference from any of my previous bikes.

Let us know when you get the bike, and what you think.

Just as everyone esle has said. The only thing that was a must with me was pullback risers for long riding.

Thanks guys for all your information. I think I'm going to pick the bike up tomorrow. I know the exhaust is stock. Any sugguestions about upgrading to a Stage 1? I would like to have a little more rumble to it.

My 05 has a Stage 1 kit on it with the SE slip ons. I replaced the slip ons with V&H longshots so I have a full set of header/slip ons to get rid of.
