Scraping floor boards

RE: Scraping floor boards
When I had my 2000 Heritage I ground the rear ends of the boards off almost to the ruber insert.
My 2003 deuceI wore the bottom of the brake lever off so it was flat.
My 07 custom I grind the right foot peg quite often.
We ride on the other side of the road.
One reson I have no desire to lower my bikes.

I ground mine on my Heritage all the way through the rubber insert. You will know when you are into the frame/floorboard supports. You can feel the back end loosing traction. I would check the service manual for the torque values on the boards. I removed mine frequently and installed drag bolts(#8 nut/bolt) in an attempt to prevent further damage. If the boardswere put on too tight there is a difference.

RE: Scraping floor boards
Mine grind every single day on my way to and from work. Scared the **** out of me at first, but now it puts a big grin on my face. I'm seriously considering welding some Ti bar under the boards to make sparks. It's the 2nd best sound my bike makes. The first are my Shortshots...

You may want to have your shocks adjusted up also.
The bikes come out of the factory rated for 185# rider.
I'm 275 and after a couple of times I took it in when it needed it's warrenty check and had it adjusted.
If they try to tellyou it is an hours labor, just tell them it should of been done at the prep before they turned it over to you at sell.
Any way it solved that problem and drastically improved the ride. My Kidneys can attest to that.
