Default Vance & Hines BR and Thunder City Baffles

I have a 2007 FXST and Just pulled the baffles out of my Vance & Hines Big Radius 2-2 pipes. I put in some thunder city baffles p/n2002. But I didnt read the directions on placement in the pipe and put the washer side in first and used the existing baffle hole to use the screw. It said in the instructions (after I got it all done) to put them in further. (min 3inches) Does anyone have any info as to where is the best sound achieved and is it with the washer side in or washer side out. Pictures would be great!
Thanks in advance.
Dan
