Crossbones Progress....
Hey guys. This project is taking much longer than planned, but I'm less than a week from being done. The rear fender I got from Hog Pro, did not work out. Once it was cut, painted, and installed, it just didn't look right, and I'm back to the Bob Tail. I'm gonna keep my eye out for a fender that will work, but for now I'm happy with the mods I'm making. I had cut the rear fender brackets that hold the tail light down to fit the new fender, so I"m just waiting on that to get back on the road. The Heartland Mirrors, and rear blinkers are a perfect match for this bike. I'll take detailed pics of the lights when everthing is done. But for now, here's the progress we've made on the air cleaner cover, and the underseat leather peice. Should be another week, and I"ll be on the road again... Enjoy...
I'm lucky enought to work at a shop that has an engraving machine, and we cut 7 brass circles to look like bullet shells. We took the center holes down, and used aluminum rivets to attach them, making it look like the firing cap. We engraved Harley Davidson around the brass. Here's Jason pounding the back of the rivets, attacting the brass disks..
Here he admires his handy work...
Here's a pic of the finished air cleaner cover, and the progress on the leather battery cover. All we have left to do on that is finish the braiding around the side. It's taking about 1 hour per every 12"... approx. Two more sessions, and we should be done.
Last pic of the bike with air cleaner cover. I'm stoked the way it came out. Hope you enjoy. We are considering going into production with this air cleaner cover and leather peice. But, now that we know how long it takes, we know we have to source it out. I'll keep you all posted...

P.S. I just ordered the Choppers Inc. 6-Shooter 4" springer risers. I'm going to have them powder coated gloss black to add to the desperado look! lol...

RE: Crossbones Progress....
Nope. That's part of my motocross gear. Not riding motocross anymore, (riding the Harley is so much more fun) but still use the jerseys for DH Mt. Biking.. I do wear the goggles on my scoot! They work perfectly with my leather german lid.
