Default Low-Profile Chrome Fuel Tank Console (Installed)

The part was backordered for a while, but I finally got it! HD Part 71208-07 (Low-Profile Chrome Fuel Tank Console)

The installation was fairly easy and took me under an hour. A nice touch are the included replacement LED indicators.

The only thing I don't like is that my current standard fuel guage/cap don't really match the look. Any ideas on replacements?

I was trying to figure out what to do with the old console. I was thinking of making it into a desk clock. Anyone have any other ideas?

Nice touch Redstripe...good job!

HD has a number of replacement fuel guage/gas cap combos, as does most of the aftermarket suppliers. Just find a setthat you like.

I think the Kuryakyn cap and guage would look great with this. Dont know if they will work since the low profile is wider. I was looking at a SE springer and there isnt much room.

cspcrx The Kuryakyn matches the instrument housing of the console nicely. I was looking at the install instructions and they sound kind of iffy. My local Harley shop is a complete rip off when it comes to service so I am pretty much forced to do all my work myself.

The link to the instructions are below.

Looks great. I was thinking about getting it as well for my train, but I wanted to powdercoat it black, and leave that trim around the speedo chrome.

Is that trim ring actually a separate piece? The description of it says "bolt on", and the quotes kinda threw me off as to whether or not it actually came off or if it was just a bolt on look.

Powdercoating would be a hot look. The chrome ring is a separate piece that bolts on top of the speedometer.
