I am 5'9" tall and with the stock seat I look over the shield perfectly.
I have only ridden around the block this spring but it seems like it will work well and looks great.

Don't make a statement like this without posting pics...pics are important

Is a Deuce really meant to be a long hauler?

Bugs & cold are not my primary concern, it's the pressure placed on my neck & shoulders while riding at sustained 70-80mph highway speeds for extended periods. It would be a pleasure to take a 300+ mile trip and not feel like I need a message (although that would be nice) once I arrive...

The Windvest is money for long trips. I can contest to that. 1000 mile trips are the only time I use it. I ride to the beach all the time which for me is 3 hours and do not use it but when I ride to FL i use it. It saves my *** on RT95. You could do the 12" but it might not be enough.

Now you've done it - you have me asking myself if I should really spend the extra coin for a Windvest when a Memphis Shades may the right tool for the job? Like you, I see myself using a shield for the longer trips that involve extended periods on the highway and taking the shield off when I get to my destination. Maybe I should save $150 and just get a Memphis Shades model?

Thats how much I got my windvest for. $150 off ebay in near perfect condition. I had to shine up the chrome a little. I take mine off as soon as i get to where i wanna be. Stopping at a gas station for for a minute with a dirty bike and a bag full of crap is not cool.

I just came accross this link from another thread - http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...MyHarley03.jpg

I beleive the shield is a Memphis Shades 17" El Paso which I think looks pretty good on that Deuce...
