RE: Considering Heritage Classic as first bike
I am biased......
At 6'2 you will be fine. One thing I did on mine was ordered the Harley Goodies floor board extensions and move the boards out. Makes the feet seating a whole lot better. I am 6'1". I also changed the bars as I just simply hate the stock bars to 12.5 chubbies.

I've had a 1999 anda 2002 Heritagethen jumped to an Ultra, just went back to a 2008 Heritage. True as said above the Ultra gave me a bit more comfort on 6000 + trips but I've ridden both the 1999 and the 2002 East Coast to West Coast. I missed the Tourpak for storage on the long trips but have never reallyhad a problem withluggage on the Heritages. My 2002 was themost comfortable, just was? Can't go wrong buying a Heritage. Stay safe and buy your Heritage.

I had the dealer do a straight swap for WW's when I got my heritage delivered. i reckon it is the most versatile bike off the floor that HD makes .enjoy what ever you choose and ride safe.
ORIGINAL: TAWoody
Check out the Deluxe too. I like it better than the Heritage. The Deluxe's seat and ground clearance is lower to the ground giving it a sporty/cool look and ride. Not to mention buying a heritage means getting all of those extras that the Deluxe doesn't have as standard. With the Deluxe you can buy all those accessories yourself but you're not restricted to buy what Harley decides to give you. I didn't want a cookie cutter bike that everyone else was going to have. It's kind of a waste of money to buy those stock parts on the bike then go buy different stuff and try to sell the stock crap at a loss. Just my opinion. Plus white walls are cool.

I went from a 2000 Sporty to an 06 Heritage and it was the best move I could have made! For me, the fit of the bike is just about perfect - I'm 5'10". I'm flat-footed with the stock saddle. I like the lower center of gravity. I just did 300+ miles last Sunday and I could have kept going!
